Beachborough’s youngsters have a great start to the season!

It was a bright but cold day at Bicester Triathlon on March 31st. However, this didn’t stop our young triathletes achieving some great places. What a great start everyone!

Lucy kindly wrote a race report about her 2nd triathlon:

I have only ever done two triathlons. Bicester was my second. We weren’t ready because we had only brought one pair of shoes. We didn’t have any talcum powder either. As I was lining up for the swim I felt nervous and didn’t know which lane I was in. When I started swimming I felt like I could do it because I had done it before. In transition, I was freezing cold and it was very windy. I yanked on my helmet, put on my trainers, put my number belt on and grabbed my bike and came out of transition. As I came around the bend, I heard someone yell out GO LUCY!!! I started pedaling hard and overtook the person in front of me. On my second lap, I was the one cheering people on.

When I was running, people were yelling to the person behind me. Not wanting to be overtaken, I quickly increased my speed. On my second run lap, I heard people say there was a yummy treat at the finish. I came 9th, got a finishers medal and found out the treat was: HARIBO!!!! I am looking forward to doing another one.

Thanks Lucy – great stuff!
