Bowood House Triathlon 26th June 2022

On the Sunday 26th of June, I went to Bowood House to do the Super Sprint Triathlon. I was racing with full-grown men so I was a bit nervous.

First I had a 400m swim in an open water lake, which was the first open water triathlon that I have done this season. I came out of the water around the middle and took a run up a very steep hill. My 1st transition was ok except for the fact that I got my wetsuit caught on my ankle. I then took a 12km bike around the beautiful grounds of Bowood House, although on my first lap my chain fell off my bike, luckily there was a marshal nearby that helped me put it back on. For the rest of the bike, I kept a good fast pace and went in for the 2nd transition. On my way out of the transition I went into the run which started with a nice run through the Bowood House woods, throughout the run course it was very hilly and this was the same with the bike. Overall I came 4th out of the U17 boys – I was pleased with that.
