Cholmondeley Castle Triathlon

Cholmondeley Castle Triathlon, another venue this weekend with great facilities for all ages and abilities. This was an amazing race but unfortunately not that great for spectators as there were very limited places to watch.

The swim for 11-12’s was 300 metres.  We had to jump of a jetty to enter the lake which was different but fun. The lake was about 21.5 degrees, some people swam with wetsuits and some without.

The run to transition was further than we expected but thankfully it was all on one level.

The bike was a long oval lap around the castle which was on tarmac and pavement.  There were some tricky corners, but we all managed to stay on our bikes!

The run was a different lap to the bike which took you around the stunning castle.  It was a hard run due to a steep hill up to the castle and then a sharp decent downhill to finish the race.

This was my first time at Cholmondeley Castle Triathlon.  A beautiful venue and I was really impressed with the triathlon.   I will definitely be going back next year.
