It was my first time travelling to France to race. When we arrived at the venue the chateau was very open surrounded by many lakes and canals. I started early afternoon, which was very warm. My first run was 1 km around the gardens of the chateau, going into transition there was a very steep sandy hill before we got our bikes and went out onto the bike course. The bike was a very tough course with deep sand, fast slippery corners and tight hairpins. My cycle was 6 km following a hare, which I had to overtake. The second run was 1.5 km around the gardens, the finish line was up a steep gravel hill where they interviewed me.
I would highly recommend doing this race.
